Probably about a year ago, I linked to a guy who was trying to make a series of trades which started with a single red paperclip and, hopefully, would end with a house. Well, apparently he has done it. He has traded a paperclip for a house. It's in Saskatchewan though, so I don't know how much of a deal that really is.
