#830 Two Hundred

Two Hundred
February 12th, 2009

February 12, 1809

200 years ago today, both Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin were born. That seems like a fairly big deal!

In honor of that, let's have a little retrospective thingy. First, we have strip #5 when Darwin was first introduced. Before I wrote that comic, I had no idea these two dudes were born on the same day. Now I do! LOOK HOW FAR WE'VE COME.

In this comic from 2006, Darwin is mad that no one remembers his birthday is the same as Abe's. Then the comic pretty much immediately ignores him so Abe can be mad about Washington's birthday being too close. Then in 2007 I totally forgot to do the birthday comic on the right day so I ended up with a comic about calendars.

Last year I remembered to do it, but I think I was sick or something on the 12th. And since the 12th was on a weekend in 2006, that makes this year the first one that will be actually published on the right day. I'm kind of a screw-up, huh.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAD DUDES
